Past my Due Date!

Well folks, here we are. Today I am one day past my estimated due date. To be perfectly honest, I thought I may be one of those people to go early, but apparently my "intuition" was wrong! :) It's all good. I've been done with work for a week and a half now and it's been very nice to have no commitments and be able to just take it easy. I've been relaxing as much as I can. I have watched tons of movies, started reading a new book, gone swimming a couple times, hung out with some friends/family... it's been nice! I am definitely getting increasingly more achy and uncomfortable with each day that goes by. My braxton hicks contractions are very frequent and just today are starting to feel slightly more "intense" but still not really painful.... we'll see if it progresses.

I've been craving ice cream all day every day, lately. It's terrible! I want to eat healthy but all I crave is the junk food. I've gained about 40lbs since I got pregnant... a bit more than I would like but I'm not that concerned about it. Me and baby are healthy and that's really all that matters. Plus, it won't be long now, and I figure, why not eat what I want! :)~ I'll be good later... hehe.

Here is me at 39 weeks.

And here is 40 weeks:

I'm getting excited because my sister will be up from Florida for a week - she gets here Friday night. Hopefully our little girl will make her appearance soon so she can meet her Auntie face to face while she is here!! And my best friend is visiting from California, arriving on the 4th of July. Mom will be up from Texas the last week of July as well. So Super Bean has got to come out and see everyone! :)

14 more days til due date!

38 weeks today! :) On Friday last week, I was dumb and thought it would be a good idea to lean onto the plastic towel rod on the bathroom wall. Well guess what? It couldn't support my weight. It ripped out of the wall and I fell backwards onto my butt and rolled to my back... I felt ok but got really freaked out. I actually laid there for a minute to assess myself, then before I could have a panic attack, I went to my room, laid on the bed and listened to my Hypnobirthing cd to calm down a bit. I happened to have my regular doc appointment that morning so I told them about it when I got there. They said it was protocol at this stage of pregnancy to send me to the hospital for 6hrs of monitoring. So off I went. I was having contractions but didn't feel them. Once I watched more closely on the monitor and paid attention to when they were happening, I realized they must have been Braxton Hicks and I had been having those sensations for a long time, but didn't realize they were contractions. Anyway, they did a couple internal checks and my cervix was soft and a fingertip dilated. They did an ultrasound to make sure my fluid level was good, which it was, so I was sent home. Phew! They had me take it easy for 24hrs. I was pretty sore and tired from the whole ordeal and boy do I have a massive bruise the length of my left tricep from scraping it along the towel rod as I fell!

I spent Saturday on the couch watching movies with Brian. Then on Sunday, I was feeling a little better so we did a huge grocery shop because we really needed to. We also went to Babies R Us to use our registry completion discount and all the gift cards we had. Whoa! We used it all up, but got pretty much everything we needed still.

Brian assembled the swing his mom got us and I did more laundry and got stuff up onto the nursery walls. I also cleaned and sterilized all the bottles, pacifiers, toys, etc. So I'd say we are doing pretty well!

I'm feeling alright these days. Getting uncomfortable for sure, and definitely feeling the Braxton Hicks contractions quite often, now that I know how to recognize them. I still feel like we have a lot of cleaning to do around the house, but other than that, I think we are pretty ready. Getting very anxious for our little girl's arrival! I can't wait to see her cute little face! But I am a patient mommy and I know she will come when she is good and ready. :)

Ok, picture time ~

Ok, gotta get some lunch and get ready for work. Thankfully, this is my last week working. I'm getting a little too cumbersome and would rather be home preparing for baby... :) 'Til next time!
